Leeds based producer Bambooman has been bubbling along on the electronic scene for a few years now with releases on the Sonic Router label as well as his own Health imprint. His live shows have seen him share stages with the likes of MF Doom, Madlib, Jon Hopkins and Venetian snares whilst he has collaborated on releases with UK rapper Jehst and vocalist Segilola. For his new EP he has been signed up by Matthew Herbert’s Accidental Records and becomes the first of a flurry of releases on a new sub-label Accidental Jnr which has been set up to focus on the labels electronic and dancefloor friendly singles and EPs.
The ‘Feel’ EP offers up a mixture of cascading melodic motifs and richly produced field recordings that combine to create a hit of warm electronica. Bambooman’s use of found sounds and real world recordings fit perfectly into the fold of label boss Matthew Herbert’s world. The heavy dance floor groove of Feel, crushing hip hop weight of Foundations and ethereal patterns of Stargaze make for an eclectic output for the producer’s debut EP for the label which is somewhere it feels right at home.
