Pianist and producer Phil Parnell spent his formative years in New Orleans and at Berklee College of Music in Boston. His 'X47S' single included two tracks he recorded in New Orleans in 1985 with, amongst others, saxophone player Rick Margtizva. Phil now divides his time between electronic music and jazz, releasing electronic EPs for labels such as Soundslike and Perlon and an album 'Do your living in the night' for Mantis Recordings. He has played live with names such as Bo Diddley, and Astrud Gilberto and keeps himself busy with regular performances alongside vocalist Lillian Boutte, with his own band and with both Matthew Herbert and Dani Siciliano. He has also recently remixed Riton, Atjazz and Mugison.
